Tooth Extraction

Exodontics, or tooth extraction, is a dental procedure wherein a tooth or teeth are surgically removed. This is usually done to alleviate pain, correct overcrowding, or to assist in orthodontic treatment. During the procedure, a dentist will use special instruments to loosen the tooth and then remove it, while also carefully preserving the surrounding tissue and bone. Afterwards, the patient may be given antibiotics or other medications to help with healing and reduce the risk of infection. In some cases, a special prosthetic device may be used to replace the extracted tooth. Overall, exodontic procedures are safe, effective, and often necessary for a healthy, functioning mouth.
